What is the foam and innerspring mattress advantage?

When choosing a bed to sleep on there are various and numerous options. Of course, there are those very unusual types of beds like Futons and waterbeds and the like, but let’s just look at the four primary (and most popular) types of mattresses that most of us sleep on and why we believe that, at the end of the day, there are foam and innerspring mattress advantages.

Memory foam mattresses

Said to be very popular, memory foam mattresses attempt to conform to your body shape and therefore are assumed to be more comfortable. This is not necessarily the case though and some people complain of a sinking feeling or feeling trapped when sleeping on these.

They do not always contain just memory foam either. Memory foam is just one type of foam and some may contain latex, gel, and polyfoam. They are very soft and more affordable than hybrid mattresses but are not usually very durable

Hybrid mattresses

Also said to be very popular, hybrid mattresses, as the name suggests, contain a mixture of foam and pocketed or innerspring coils. Pocketed coils, for the uninitiated,  are individually wrapped, which helps reduce movement.

One of the issues with these though is that they generally contain different materials so they are not always the same product and they tend to be more expensive than other types of mattresses.

Polyurethane foam mattresses

This is more of a traditional foam mattress and has some great advantages. Polyurethane (PU) foam is versatile in the ways it can be used, its density, and many other elements, making it one of the best foam types.

Just some of the many advantages are – the health benefits of more softness and temperature regulation which can help improve the quality of your sleep; and it’s an abrasion-resistant material making it resistant to wear and tear. The pricing comes down to the manufacturer, thickness, density, and overall quality of your PU Foam, but these mattresses tend to be highly affordable compared to many other types and finally it is considered to be a durable option and offer great flexibility in its general usage.

Innerspring mattresses

These are the most popular and used worldwide. Providing the traditional bouncy feel and great for postural support they also tend to be more affordable and have greatly advanced since the mattresses of old due to new manufacturing techniques and better materials. Without a doubt, they are the most durable and offer many years of sleeping comfort.

The foam and innerspring mattress advantage

The mattresses that we believe offer the best postural support and comfort and will last the longest are the polyurethane foam and traditional Bonnel innerspring mattresses and this is why Truform has been manufacturing these for the last 40 years. Using state-of-the-art machinery and technology, we manufacture our own Bonnell springs, polyurethane foam, and wooden bases as well as perform our own quilting & embroidery in-house.

The Truform difference is that we use SABS-approved parts in all mattresses; offer affordability without compromising quality; have the highest gauge wire and highest spring count in every mattress and an additional comfort layer under the quilting that makes our mattresses firmer, more comfortable and orthopedically superior.
